To the trail head: Pali
Hwy to Kailua. Name of road will change several times but keep going straight
until you cannot go anymore. Then turn right on to Kalaheo.
Again the name will change but keep going straight past Buzz's and Kailua beach
park - at the funky intersection at the end of the beach park go left
(towards the boat ramp). Continue up the hill into "Lanikai Loop."
Once in the loop you will be on A'alapapa Rd. take your first right which is
Kaelepulu Dr. Park on the right side of the road just after the entrance
to Mid Pacific Country Club. Walk up the road with signs saying "private
driveway." Up the hill is the trail head next to the chain-link
fence.
To the Letterbox:
Follow trail to the first bunker hop up - rest - enjoy the view. Then
continue following the trail to the second bunker. Approach the second
bunker - stay to the right side and continue around the bunker in a
counter-clockwise direction until it seems you have come to the end of your
path. Below your feet nestled in the rocks is the Lanikai Bunkers
Letterbox.
